Each year JNI empowers and celebrates the journey of our community members in different categories with a Black-Tie Gala and Awards show, International Men’s Day (IMD), International Women’s Day (IWD), Black History Month and grants two students with a Bursary.
International Women’s Day – Women of Excellence Award
MARCH 8TH ANNUALLY
International Women’s Day IWD March 8th is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. IWD has occurred for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people. Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere. IWD is not country, group or organization specific. Nominate your Women and come celebrate with us. Book your table or individual tickets.
International Men’s Day – Men of Excellence Award
NOVEMBER 19TH ANNUALLY
International Men’s Day IMD celebrated November 19th to recognise and celebrate the cultural, political, and socioeconomic achievements of men, in particular for their contributions to nation, union, society, community, family, marriage, and childcare. The project was re-initialised in 1999 in Trinidad and Tobago by Dr. Jerome Teelucksingh, he chose November 19 to honor his father’s birthday and to celebrate Trinidad and Tobago’s football team with their endeavors to qualify for the World Cup. Today, IMD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere. IMD is not country, group or organization specific.
